Excursions

Los Angeles is the perfect base from which to visit many interesting places in California - and we provide excursions to a variety of destinations. They include downtown Los Angeles, Hollywood and Beverly Hills with the well-known film studios and the homes of the stars, and San Diego with its exciting Sea World. We also arrange visits to some of America's best theme parks: Disneyland, Universal Studios, Knott's Berry Farm and Six Flags Magic Mountain; and the international resorts of Malibu, Santa Monica, Laguna, Newport and Venice beaches. Other fascinating places within easy reach include Las Vegas, The Grand Canyon, Palm Springs and Death Valley, Hearst Castle at San Simeon, the famous Highway One to San Francisco, and even Mexico.

Sport

The sports facilities on campus are exceptional, with swimming pools, tennis courts and a modern running track. You can play baseball, basketball, soccer, volleyball and almost any other major game. We can also arrange for you to be a member of the College gymnasia at low cost.

In the immediate vicinity you can bowl, skate, play golf or follow many other pastimes - including skiing during the winter months.

And you can watch professional sports at the highest level, such as American football, baseball, basketball, golf and rodeos. In fact, you can enjoy virtually any activity you like.

Leisure

The campus of the distinguished Claremont Colleges is an ideal place in which to relax, enjoy your leisure activities and make new friends.

The Colleges offer a wide variety of cultural, artistic and musical programs presented by visiting professionals as well as by faculty and students. There are concerts, theatrical productions, art exhibitions, films, lectures and debates - and these events are supplemented by social, cultural and sporting events arranged by Anglo-Continental. In the modern Student Center, furnished with an art gallery, self-service restaurant and even an indoor climbing wall, you can meet new people, practice your English and take full advantage of every moment of your time.

Los Angeles, of course, offers every possible activity and spectacle - fairs, concerts, discotheques, theaters, cinemas, clubs, restaurants and some of the world's most exciting stores, boutiques and shopping malls. Everything you need is available to you to make your free time interesting, enjoyable and rewarding.
