Error handling.

If there is an error in one of the input programs, should

  1. the code print an error message to cerr and continue processing the
  second program or
  2. should the code exit with an error message or
  3. should the code ignore program1 and process program2?

You probably want to review the last sentence on the assignment page, the
sentence that begins "If your program detects an input error...".
