1. Should the program take an input parameter which is the name of the
training-set data file, or should it open the alphabet file by default?
You can open /export/opt/cs-509/pa4/alphabet by default.
2. Is the requirement of the assignment, for handling random jitter taken away
completely now?
Not completely; individual coordinates will not be jittered, but strokes may
be.
3. In a previous mail you said the training set will be modified to have 14
coordinates for each stroke. Is it finally all going to be 14 coordinates?
I forgot to mention anything about that; thanks for reminding me. I decided it
was too silly to give I the same number of strokes as O, so I just modified
characters that were close to one another in the number of coordinates. For
example, the two-stroke characters X, V, T, and Y are all described with a
two-coordinate stroke and a three-coordinate stroke.
