Jimmy Tilton Chemistry, Class of '16

Research projects:

  1. Monitoring Gene Expression via Fluorescence Modulated by a Riboswitch
  2. Finding an acrylamide gel stain to to measure densitometry without the use of radio labeling

I am currently an undergraduate student studying Chemistry with a minor in Information Technology. I am currently working on cloning a system that would constitutively express mCherry and where theophylline, a small molecule similar to caffeine, will serve as a biosensor to modulate the expression of GFP. As a side project, I am working to find an acrylamide gel stain to measure by densitometry the cleavage of DNA fragments without radiolabeling.

After Monmouth I intend on entering the chemical industry and shortly after returning to graduate school to pursue a doctorate degree in chemistry.
