This sentence was added at the request of a student who waited until the last minute to turn-in an assignment. Unfortunately, the student called the group file group.txt, and took longer than a minute to figure out what was wrong, at a cost of 10 points for being late.

The morals of this little tale of woe are:

• Understand what it is you’re supposed to do.
• “Understanding how to do X” means being able do X repeatedly with success under varying circumstances.
• If meeting a deadline requires that you understand how to do something successfully, give yourself plenty of time before the deadline to make sure you have time to understand what it is you’re supposed to do.
