Technically, a subset of the levels can be used to form a random permutation; it is not necessary to include all levels in each repetition. This is convenient if some of the treatments (that is, levels assigned to factors) are expensive to simulate, but can lead to lower result quality (that is, higher variance) if not dealt with carefully. These notes assume that all levels are used in every repetition.
