CS 505 - Operating Systems Concepts

1. Devices and resource management; deadlock, avoidance etc.

   It was ok.

2. Deadlock is generally not worried about in general operating systems.

   Had difficulty understanding how to avoid cyclic waiting by just numbering the resources sequentially.

3. Types of deadlock, preventing deadlock, avoiding deadlock.

   The solution to cyclic waiting (the ordering part).

4. We learned about deadlock and management of resources.

   What is the full extent of resources. Does the memory or CPU fit into this in real life?
