I know you said that consumers only make one purchase. Is the same true for
producers?
I see I wasn't clear: a consumer can only buy one widget per purchase (limit
one per customer as they say), but may make arbitrarily many purchases by
looping, as is usually the case with producer-consumer problems. Similarly,
each producer delivery drops off one widget, but each producer can make
arbitrarily many deliveries.
