An example mailbox has been made available in the Project Materials section of
the first project off the syllabus. Shift-key left-click on the mailbox link to
download the mailbox to a local file.
For those of you that want direct access, you can also find the mailbox at
/export/home/us/csfac/cs598-498-summer2001/p1/mbox
on rockhopper. Neither rockhopper nor cslab allow ftp access from outside the
monmouth domain; you must be logged into a monmouth account to access
rockhopper via ftp (neither allow anonymous ftp either).
The mailbox is a text file in stupid unix format: the start of a message is
marked with the five characters "From " at the start of a line; the remainder
of the line is ignored. The starting marker line is not part of the message;
the message begins with the line immediately following the starting marker
line. The message ends with the next marker line or the end of file. The
ending marker line is also not part of the message; the message ends at the
line immediately preceding the ending marker line. Everything before the
first marker line is ignored.
