  I will be unable to attend the class scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I
  know we are having a lab test and I am wondering when I can let you know to
  schedule a makeup?

Lab tests, quizzes, and programming assignments (and the final) cannot be made
up; you get one shot at them and that's it.
