Microsoft-Borland C++ compilers.

It seems that, by default, the Microsoft and Borland C++ compilers implement
some truly lame and mind-numbing extensions to C++. I expect this is why some
of you are having so much trouble when I run your code through an
ANSI-compliant C++ compiler. I highly recommend and encourage you to turn off
these extensions. For Borland, look under the options->compiler menu; I don't
know what you'd do for Microsoft, but I imagine you'd do something similar to
what you'd do for Borland.
