If you are sitting in front of a microsoft system on campus, open up the
network resources or network connections folder and click on xrockhopper.bat.
If you are sitting in front of a linux system on campus, you should be good to
go.
If you're off-campus, things are harder. If you're sitting in front of a
microsoft system off-campus, you're on your own. If you're sitting in front of
a linux system off-campus, you won't be connecting to rockhopper but will be
running everything locally. To do this you'll have to
1 make sure your system has tck-tk installed:
$ whereis wish
wish: /usr/bin/wish /usr/bin/wish8.4 /usr/share/man/man1/wish.1.gz
$
If it's not installed, install it using whatever package management system
your system supports.
2 copy the contents of the a4 assignment directory on rockhopper to wherever.
3 Change the location of show-trees in the show-tree.cc popen() call; make
sure you use the full pathname to show-trees.
