  Say a rectangle is input as "2 3 x 4 5" and later another rectangle is also
  input as "2 3 x 4 5". Should we keep both rectangles (just dump on on top of
  the other) or do something else?

You should put one on top of the other, assuming the first rectangle hasn't
been moved.
