Extra credit.

Some of you received extra credit with your quizes today. Here's how you use
them:

The extra credit grades are either +0 or +5; each gives the number of extra
  credit points available.

You can apply the extra credit to any of your individual grades; it doesn't
apply to aggregate grades (such as your final grade).

Extra credit can take a grade up to 100, but not over. For example, applying
  a +5 extra credit to a 97 grade results in 100, not 102.

Each extra credit applies to one grade only; a single extra credit cannot be
split between more than one grade.

Each grade can be bumped by extra credit at most once; for example, an 80 can
be bumped to 85 but not 90, 95 or 100.

Extra credit only bumps the grade of the holder of the extra credit; if the
grade is the result of group work, the other group members' grades remain the
same (unless they too apply their extra credits).

Extra credit expires at the start of the last day of class (4:00 p.m. on
Wednesday, 15 December); make sure you use them before that.

I think that about covers it; I reserve the right to make any changes to these
rules as I see fit. Let me know if you have any questions. Other
opportunities for extra credit will arise as I run across them.
