MONMOUTH WOMEN’S TENNIS QUIETS TERRIERS' BARK WITH 7-0 WIN
 

WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J.  – Monmouth University’s women’s tennis squad beat St. Francis (N.Y.) College handedly in a 7-0 decision in Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon.

In singles action, the Hawks diced up the competition winning all six matches in straight sets, winning 72 games to St. Francis’ 13.

Kelly Phoebus blanked Angela Passalaqua, 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles. Anneabeth Bailey breezed past Lauren Bajada, 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. Lauren McCormick toppled Andrea Brown, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Gina Fay moved to 7-2 on the season as she thwarted Yabira Ramos, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles. Lisa DePaolo recorded a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Denyse Lucero at No. 2 singles and Danielle Brunelli completed the sweep with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Joanneyre McNeil at No. 1 singles.

In doubles action, Brunelli and DePaolo booked an 8-1 victory over McNeil and Lucero at No. 1 doubles. Fay and Phoebus blanked Ramos and Brown at No. 2 doubles, 8-0. Jennifer Taylor and Bailey bested Bajada and Passalaqua at No. 3 doubles, 8-0.

Monmouth returns to action Thursday as the Hawks travel to Princeton to take on the Tigers “B” squad at 3:30 p.m.
