MONMOUTH WOMEN’S TENNIS LOSES DECISION AT ST. PETER’S
WEST LONG BRANCH, N.J. – Monmouth University’s women’s tennis squad had its winning streak snapped at four as the Hawks lost a 5-4 decision at St. Peter’s College on Tuesday in Jersey City, N.J.
Erin Dunn (Williamstown, N.J./Pope Paul VI) won two matches for Monmouth (4-2, 2-0 NEC). She bested the Peahen’s Jessica Wise at No. 4 singles, 6-2, 6-3 and teamed with Anneabeth Bailey (Hazlet, N.J./Raritan) to post an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles.
Lisa DePaolo (Suffield, Conn./Suffield) was victorious for the Hawks at No. 5 singles to raise her season record to 5-1. Gina Fay (Manalapan, N.J./Manalapan) defeated St.Peter’s Jennifer Mayerson at No. 6 singles, 6-2, 6-0.
Monmouth returns to action Wednesday as the Hawks host Iona in a 3:30 p.m. contest.
