HAWKS TOPPLED BY ST. PETER’S

West Long Branch, N.J .-  Monmouth University (4-5, 1-1 NEC) was defeated, 65-64 by St. Peter’s College on a last second 3
pointer Wednesday night at Boylan Gym.

Lindsay Gonzalez (Haverstraw, N.Y.) connected on a long trifecta with 0.3 seconds remaining to lift St. Peter’s (7-1, 2-0
MAAC) to a come-from-behind victory.  It was Gonzalez’s only field goal of the game.

The Hawks’ attack was led by Michelle Cappadona (Atlantic Highlands, N.J./ Red Bank Catholic) who registered her fourth
double-double of the season, with 24 points and 10 rebounds.  Rashawnah French (Newark, N.J./West Side) had 14 points, as
she was the only other Hawk in double figures.

Local product Felicia Harris (Tinton Falls, N.J.) led the Peahens as she scored 20 points and 10 rebounds before fouling out in
the final seconds.  Tanesha Seaton also had a double-double for St. Peter’s, as she scored 10 points and pulled down a game-high
16 rebounds.

St. Peter’s went into the locker room at the half with a 42-36 lead, and led by as many as nine points in the second half before
Monmouth rallied and took control with a 13-0 run.  The Hawks would remain in the lead until Gonzalez’s three pointer, which came
after Cappadona missed the tail end of two free throws.  Poor free throw shooting proved to be the Hawks’ downfall, as they
connected on only 52.4% (11-22). The Peahens managed to pull off the victory despite draining only 26.7% (8-30) of their shots in
the second half, and shooting 34.8% (23-66) for the game.

The Hawks will return to action December 22, as they travel to the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore for a 3 p.m. matchup.
