#25 - KEVIN OWENS


QUICKLY: Returning starter center for the Hawks... Intimidating presence in the key... One of the tallest and most imposing players in the league... Valuable asset on both the ends of the court.

EUROPEAN TOUR: Played in all five games for the Hawks during their tour of France and Switzerland... Posted 16 points and eight rebounds in victory over St. Chamond... Made just 10-of-24 free throws during the trip.

1999-2000 (Redshirt Freshman): Started all 28 games for the Hawks as a redshirt freshman... Averaged 8.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game... Stepped up play in conference games to average 9.3 points and 5.0 rebounds per game... Monmouth's leading rebounder in NEC action... Tallied 10 points and five rebounds in Monmouth's victory over Drexel (11/30)... Registered 15 points and eight rebounds, including six offensive boards, in victory over Albany (12/11)... Notched 12 points and five rebounds in loss to Mount St. Mary's (1/8)... Grabbed season-high 13 rebounds to go with eight points in Monmouth's one-point victory over UMBC (1/10)... Scored 15 points and added six rebounds in MU's victory over Wagner (1/15)... Scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds in home loss to Quinnipiac... Scored 13 points in loss to CCSU (1/31)... Scored season-high 20 points in loss to St. Francis [2/19].

FRESHMAN (1998-99): Sat out season as a redshirt.

HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered three years at Camden Catholic High School in Cherry Hill, N.J... Played center for head coach Jim Crawford... Led the Irish to a 23-3 record and an appearance in the South Jersey Finals as a senior in 1997-98... Averaged 16.8 points and 10.2 rebounds per game as a senior... Played in the Al Carino All-Star and the Jersey All-Star games.

PERSONAL: Brother, Geoff Owens is a starter at the University of Pennsylvania... Son of Patrick Owens and Judy Blank... Born June 9, 1980 in Haddonfield, N.J... Majoring in communications.
