MONMOUTH COMPETES AT THE 28th ANNUAL PAUL SHORT RUN

Lehigh, Pa. – The Monmouth University men’s and women’s cross country squads traveled to Lehigh University to compete in the 28th Annual Paul Short Run on Saturday, October 6.  The men’s team, led by Nick Pellegrino’s time, which was the fastest in Monmouth history at the event, finished in 13th place out of 39 teams, while the women placed 29th out of 39 squads.

Penn State swept first place honors on both sides, as their men scored a 66, while the women posted a 109.  Bucknell University earned runners-up honors in both as well.

Monmouth’s men scored a 381, while the women posted a 741.

Pellegrino paced the Hawks’ with a 28th place finish with a time of 25:34.41.  Tara Losito finished in 81st place to lead the women, with a time of 22:51.08.

The top finishers in the meet were Daniel Wilson from the University of Connecticut (24:19.33) on the mens’ side, and Erin Silvering of Rhode
Island (21:08.00) for the women.

Monmouth returns to action on Saturday, October 13, as they compete in the Lafayette Invitational.

WOMEN:
81st – Tara Losito (22:51.08), 113th – Kim Wolozen (23:15.19), 168th – Kandace Leuallen (23:55. 21), 185th – Amy Werner ( 24:09.65), 199th –
Amala Merritt (24:21.57), 212th – Jessica Pratt (24:32.23), 225th – Erin Guinther (24:48.17)
