Course Overview:
The purpose of the this course to to increase your understanding and awareness of marriage and family processes from the communication perspective.  Although you can study marriage and the family in Sociology, Psychology, Anthropology and other fields, this course focuses on communication and interaction between intimate partners and family members.

It is through communication that relationships are established, maintained and changed.  Studying these relationships from the communication perspective will enable you to heighten your awareness of the interactional "workings" of family relationships and provide some insight and guidelines for managing and enhancing those relationships.
