Handicapped Parking Placards
Individuals wishing to obtain a handicapped parking placard should obtain an "Application for Temporary Handicapped Placard" from MUPD Headquarters, located at the corner of Cedar and Norwood Avenues. (For the safety of the University Community, the Monmouth University Police Department is open 24 hours a day/7 days a week.)
The application must be completed by both the individual and his/her physician and then submitted to Monmouth University Police Department Headquarters between the hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Friday, along with a check or money order in the amout of $4.00 payable to New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services. If an individual is unable to visit Police Headquarters during the above-stated time, please call (732) 571-3472 and an appointment can be made at that time.
Temporary placards are issued for a period of six (6) months and may be
renewed one time for an additional period of six (6) months (at the discretion
of the University) at no additional fee. The temporary placard will
be honored in any municipality in New Jersey. If an individual knows
he/she will need handicapped parking for longer than six (6) months, he/she
will need to contact New Jersey Motor Vehicle Services to apply for a permanent
placard or handicapped license plates.
