Background

The Relationship Researchers Interest Group (RRIG) within the Society for Personality and Social Psychologists (SPSP) presents an annual award to a relatively new researcher who has made original and important contributions to relationships research. The recipient of this award will be invited to give an award address at the SPSP Close Relationships Preconference.

Join us in congratulating this year’s winner:

Jim McNulty

Previous winners of this award include:

2008: Eli Finkel

2007: Lorne Campbell
2006: Benjamin R. Karney
2005: Brooke C. Feeney and
Shelly L. Gable
2004: Lisa M. Diamond and R. Chris Fraley
2003: Christopher R. Agnew

Eligibility

The primary selection criterion is an outstanding record of original research in the general area of close relationships. Because this award recognizes a new investigator, nominees will typically have received their Ph.D. within the past 8 years, and will most often be Assistant Professors.

Nomination Process

Any member of SPSP may nominate a relationships researcher for this award. Nominations (including self-nominations) included: (1) a paragraph outlining the nominee's major research contributions, and (2) a recent curriculum vitae.

Please send nominations electronically to Art Aron, co-chair of the 2009 RRIG Awards Committee at the following email address: Arthur.Aron@sunysb.edu

The deadline for nominations was July 15, 2008. The award recipient will be notified by August.
