Professional development programs for pre-service (initial certification) and inservice teachers.

We currently offer two degrees in the MAT program. Please read the following descriptions and decide which degree program is suited to your professional goals.

The Master of Arts in Teaching Initial Certification (if you want to receive first-time certification to teach)	The Master of Arts in Teaching Advanced (if you are already certified to teach)
For those seeking a first time teaching license from the State of New Jersey. Candidates are both recent undergraduate students and career changers with 5, 10 or 15 years of professional experience in a diverse array of occupations. If you want to become a certified teacher in elementary, middle or high school eductional settings, this is the program for you.	A degree for professional teachers holding an undergraduate degree seeking to explore their own professional development. Courses cover professional development in a wide-range of areas and 18 elective credits to be chosen from various content and professional growth areas and guided by the candidate's adviser.
