The 26th Annual Social Work Day at the United Nations was
held on Monday, April 6, 2009 and was a presentation of the
International
Federation of Social Workers and the
International
Association of Schools of Social Work. Our theme for the
program was “Global Poverty: Challenges for
Social Work Practice." The
Global Social Work Student
Conference on international social work was held on
Sunday, April 5, 2009 at the Fordham University Graduate
School of Social Service.
Social Work Day at the
UN is a gathering place for people around the world who are
working to make a difference. For 25 years students,
practitioners, and educators have been convening at the UN
to learn more about the UN, innovative projects and issues
related to International Social Work and the critical role
Social Work plays in the international arena.
