WELCOME TO HAWKDOM2!
We have been
working to ensure that the HAWKDOM2 environment
will provide the academic community with a more stable, modern computing experience.
We have successfully migrated most of the campus to the new domain network structure
over the past year so you can be assured that all network services, such as
user data (your files), shared files & printers as well as your local data
will be migrated during this transition.
Those that have moved are taking advantage of the new services such as:
Automatic file back up to minimize data loss, and restorations when needed.
Uniform and automatic updating of virus protection across the campus.
Access to “My Documents” folder from any campus PC, including from the instructor PC’s in classrooms and labs.
Enhanced network security.
Sharing files with groups.
Remote Support services to reduce response time when issues occur.
The HAWKDOM2 environment provides more network storage for use and backup than on any previous servers.
The same login and password is used in an office, lab and classroom.
| We are
working to synchronize the network password with both Email and WebAdvisor; look for this convenience in the very near future. |
The reliability of this system has been better than any before it.
The current
network servers, such as BUSINESS, ISLAB
and CASPER, will soon be brought offline as they
are outdated.
Our goal in
Desktop Support Services is to provide both an enterprise styled computing experience,
based on our information there are 4 status scenarios for Academic Computing:

We need to revisit any Users that were joined to HAWKDOM2 since the IBM installs
last January to make changes necessary to correspond with current standards
which are based on system performance evaluations.
We encourage and look forward to both feedback and information regarding your
needs.
